GOING THROUGH TRAUMA
Trauma Therapy in Fresno, CA and online in CA
WHEN EVERY DAY FEELS THE SAME AND YOU JUST WANT TO FEEL LIKE YOURSELF AGAIN
Nothing feels comfortable anymore.
Nothing feels enjoyable.
The world around you has gone grey, or it flashes red, and you can’t always tell which is worse. You find yourself wondering if it’s you, or if things really are as dangerous as they feel. It seems like others are trying to freak you out, or are out to hurt you, and you can’t find solid ground long enough to figure out what’s real.
You don’t like this anymore. Each day feels the same as the last, a heaviness that exhausts you even as something inside is telling you that you need something different.
But it feels like nothing will change no matter what you do. That tension, wanting change while not believing it’s possible, sits with you all the time.
You’re tired of having to protect yourself from everyone else. Tired of feeling alone. Tired of living on edge, waiting for the next threat that always seems to be just around the corner.
You just want to be your old self again. Not this version of you that has to force feelings, that moves through anger and stress and back again without a break.
At night there’s no relief either. You can’t sleep. Your mind runs replays of everything that has worn you down, and everything around you seems to connect back to it somehow. You can’t catch a break from these thoughts and feelings.
And then there are the moments when you almost don’t feel human. Like you’re watching yourself do things but it’s not really you doing them. Like the world around you has gone wrong in some way, almost unreal. You want to feel like a human again. You want these thoughts and feelings to stop running the show.
You’re still here.
Still wanting something different.
That matters more than it might feel like right now.
You Came Here For A Reason
Underneath the exhaustion, underneath the anger and the hypervigilance and the nights without sleep, there is still a part of you that remembers who you were before all of this. A part of you that wants your relationships back, wants rest, wants to feel like yourself again instead of like someone watching their own life from the outside.
That part of you has not disappeared. It has just been buried under everything your mind and body have been doing to try to keep you safe.
Still here.
Still wanting.
Still worth fighting for.
I’M ANTHONY SAMORA, LMFT, AND I HELP PEOPLE FIND THEIR WAY BACK TO THEMSELVES
I’m Anthony Samora, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Fresno, California, and I also work with clients online throughout California.
For more than ten years I have been working alongside people whose minds won’t stop scanning for danger, who are exhausted from the anger and the worry and the sleepless nights, who feel cut off from themselves and from the life they used to have or always wanted.
I specialize in trauma therapy in person in Fresno or online in CA, and what that means in practice is helping people get out from under the weight of their past experiences so they can begin to see who they actually are, not just the emotional reactions and the triggers.
Many clients come in feeling like the version of themselves they least recognize. Over time, they begin to recognize themselves again. Relationships rebuild. Friendships that faded start to come back. Family connections that felt strained begin to open up. Meaningful work and real personal time become possible again, not just things other people seem to have.
What I bring to this work is honesty, humor, and a willingness to challenge you in the ways that actually move things forward.
I won’t pretend therapy is always easy. It can be hard. But in that challenge there is growth, and in that growth there is the you you have been wanting back. We will always be moving toward that at a pace we decide on together. You are not alone in this process, and we will never move faster than you are ready to go.
Clients who work with me often describe starting to feel like they can breathe again. Many find that the triggers that used to hijack their whole day begin to lose some of their grip. That is not a small thing. That is your life coming back to you.
HOW TRAUMA THERAPY WORKS WITH ANTHONY
Therapy with me is built around weekly sessions because consistency creates the kind of stable support that makes real change possible.
Showing up each week gives you a dedicated space to step out of the overwhelm and begin working through what is underneath it.
Within that structure, we draw on approaches tailored specifically to you. That might include mindfulness practices shaped around what actually works for you rather than a one-size-fits-all technique, real-time awareness of what is happening in your body, mind, and emotions, and practical take-home skills you can use between sessions to start reclaiming your daily life from triggers and reactivity.
The goal is not just to manage what you are experiencing. The goal is to help you understand what your mind and body have been doing, and why, so you can begin stepping out from behind it and living as yourself again. Trauma therapy in CA, whether in person in Fresno or online, works best when it is built around you. That is exactly what this process is designed to be.
READY TO FEEL LIKE YOURSELF AGAIN
Change is possible. It does not happen overnight and it is not always a straight line, but it happens. Clients who once felt like every day was exactly the same grey or red as the last begin to notice things shifting, small at first, then more.
If this feels like your day and you are ready to stop feeling on edge, reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. It is one conversation with no commitment, just a chance to see if this is the right fit for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TRAUMA THERAPY IN FRESNO OR ONLINE IN CALIFORNIA
How do I know if trauma therapy in CA is right for me?
If you find yourself:
- constantly on edge
- struggling to sleep
- replaying past events
- feeling disconnected from yourself
- or noticing that your emotional reactions seem bigger than the situation calls for
trauma therapy may be a good fit. These are not signs that something is permanently wrong with you. They are signs that your mind and body learned to protect you, and that those protective responses have not yet had a chance to update. If you read this page and thought “that sounds like me,” that is worth paying attention to.
What is trauma therapy and how is it different from regular talk therapy?
Trauma therapy is a focused approach to working through experiences that have left your nervous system stuck in a state of alertness, reactivity, or shutdown.
While general talk therapy can be helpful for many things, trauma therapy specifically addresses the ways that past experiences continue to affect how you feel, think, and respond in daily life.
In our work together, we pay close attention to what is happening in your body and emotions in real time, not just what you can describe with words.
This can include using techniques such as:
Somatic work
EMDR
Brainspotting
